Well, A lot has happened since I last posted. We stayed at the Buffalo in and suites on December 1st and 2nd. It was nice! They had a saltwater pool and a regular hot-tub! The pool water actually didn't taste to bad :P. Me and Eldin stayed at the hotel on the 2nd by ourselves while mama and daddy finished the sale at the house. It was kinda boring really. Then we left Missouri on December 3rd, With just what we could fit in the car. So everyone but the driver had there legs bent at weird angles to fit into the car. Me and my brother each had a cat in a carrier on our laps as well. We stopped at the Over-pass McDonald's for lunch, It was awesome! The cats were not happy campers until we got to the second motel we stayed at on the trip to Austin. We let them out of the crates that night. They were sooo happy. We had Pizza for dinner that night ;P. Then the next day we all piled back into the car to finish the trip to Austin. I don't remember where we stopped to eat lunch that day. So after 5-6 hours of driving we finally arrive in Austin! We made it to the motel we planned on staying at for 14 days and payed $700 something for it. The room wasn't bad, The cats got to get out of there crates, So they were pretty happy. We had to make what felt like 10 trips from the car upstairs to the room loaded with stuff just to empty the car. We were exhausted by the time we finished unpacking the car! I think we went to Wal-mart after we rested for a bit. Ya' know we had to pick up some food to cook while we stayed there. One night we stayed there we got take-out from Chili's. It was awesome because we only had to walk like 0.5mi to get there.
Me and mama walked to the target that was near the motel a few times, one of those times we bought Eldin some brand new roller blades. We also walked to the Walgreen's that was in the same plaza to get cigarettes and snacks. Me and Eldin also walked to target and Walgreen's by ourselves one time just to look around the stores. Then another day me and mama walked to the temp agency next to target called "Man Power" and found out we could just apply there online.
We applied for a apartment with Fort branch at Trumans landing, They are a Restricted income based apartment complex. They assured us that we had a place there. That they were just dotting the I's and crossing the T's. Well because the process for the paperwork was taking so long we had to pay for an extra 3 nights at the motel. We even had to take Eldin's Christmas present (the roller blades) back to the store so that we could pay for another night at the motel. Which left us with barely anything left to spend on anything else. Then on Tuesday the 20th we go in thinking that we were going to be signing the lease right? Well we get there and they tell us that because of our projected income (from jobs we didn't even have yet) Put us over the income limit. So for a week and a half they jerked us around assuring us that we had it only to tell we might make to much if me and mama were working full-time. So Mama asked them if they knew of any place that we could move in today because we didn't have the money to stay at the motel any longer and They referred us to where we live now.
We got the apartment that day, but because it was after noon that we got it, we still had to pay for one more night at the motel. Which we could do since we now had a place to live. So we unpack the trunk full of stuff we had packed earlier that day. Into the apartment. Then we go back to the motel and pack up a bunch more stuff from the motel to the car. Later we go to Little Ceasers to get some Supper and Soda. It was delicious! Just a little bit after that I went to take a bath.
Just after getting out of the bath and getting ready to watch offline videos on my laptop when mama starts making snoring like sounds. I thought she was joking at first, Until she wasn't responding to daddy talking to her. At which point I start telling daddy to call 911 because she wasn't breathing. We had a whole fiasco with the 911 operator. He asked our address where we were staying and we gave it to him, Then he said that his computers showed that it wasn't a valid address. Then asked for the phone number of the place we were at so daddy gave that to him. He then said that it showed that it wasn't a valid phone number (or something like that) then asked if we had a card with the address on it. We didn't but we knew the address and told him again. He must have found it because then he said that the paramedics were on there way.
Daddy handed me the phone when he started so I could relay what the gut was saying and so daddy could do the Chest compressions with both hands, But I was so shaken up that I couldn't relay anything and handed the phone back. So daddy had to do the Chest compressions one handed. I watched for the EMS. After the EMS got there one of the cops took me outside and asked me my family's birthdays and names. He was impressed that I knew my parents birthdays and birth years. He stood outside with me and talked about various things until the Civilian help people got there and asked me The same things as the cop did.
The cop let me use his jacket for a bit and the civilian help people gave me a blanket to use. After the EMS had taken mama down to the ambulance we followed the civilian help people to the hospital ER and found a parking garage to park in. Then we went in to the ER and waited to be told what happened. A nurse called us back to wait in a more private room. We waited for the doctor and talked about what mama would of wanted. That was sad :`(.
Then the doctor came in and told us that she had had a heart-attack. And that she was in a coma and that she had probably been without air to her brain for to long causing brain damage, And that her heart was really weak. Then we got to go see her for the first time since she was put into the Ambulance. It was very sad to see her like that. Then we went home and tried to sleep some.
So then she was in the ICU on life support From the 21st to the 29th. In that time They found out she was having seizures so they gave her meds for that, Then they did a EKG and found out that her heart was very weak and it looked like it had been for a long time.(they also said that the weakness could of been caused by the CPR). Then they later told us that the type of heart-attack that she had was called V-Fib. Then they did an EEG and found out that she was having constant brain seizures. So they gave her meds for that too. But the meds didn't seem to be calming them down at all. During that week in the ICU on life support, She had another V-Fib heart-attack.
Her Mother and Brother came during that week and visited her and us. They got here on the 28th(I think) and the next day the doctor talked with all of us about her condition and how what she's suffering from people don't recover from. It was talked about in a private little conference room. We all told him that she wouldn't want to live very long like this and that we should turn the life support off(which was very hard to say) and that if she had another Heart-attack not to resuscitate her.
Her family stayed here at a hotel from the 28th of Dec. to the 1st of Jan. Then daddy's sister came on the 1st and left yesterday at 4:30am. During that time there has been no change in her condition since taking her off of life-support. Mama's brother Gary paid the crematorium fee for us. So when she does pass on, We have that all taken care of for us. Her dad gave us $800 originally for the cremation and urn, But her brother and his wife didn't want us using HIS money for that so they paid for it and so we got $800 to spend on getting us presents for a late Yule. Daddy's sister who came on Sunday, bought us a couch and lounge chair. Then we find a really nice desk out by the dumpsters. It took all four of us (Me, Daddy, Eldin and Aunt Michelle) to get it back. It was definitely worth the effort.
Dealing with all this AND having just moved here, It's been hectic these last few weeks. We've been very busy not only visiting the Hospital but also Paying bills, Getting food stamps applied for, Getting furniture when we can afford it, Shopping for food and cook-ware, Setting up a bank account, And lots of other stuff too. We've just been on the go constantly since this happened. Mama is now also under the care of a hospice. She's still in the room in the hospital, But as soon as a room opens up in the hospice she'll be taken there. Now one of our list friends Mary is coming tomorrow afternoon to visit.
Me and Eldin now have our Brand new Roller Blades. We're very happy about that. We went to the YMCA that is really close by here and took a tour and found out that for low-income people it is very inexpensive to join and get a membership. And all of this is the shortened version of what has been going on since I last wrote :P. So we've been very very busy. Byebye. Suppers ready so I got to go :).
That was a goof blog post. You explained everything perfectly. Great job! <3

ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Angelica, it filled in a lot of confusing parts in all this for me. I do have one question--what is an anime otaku? :-)
ReplyDeleteA Anime Otaku is basically a Anime "geek". Otaku in japan generally means "geek" or "A Obsessive fan". :-) :-D
