Family, Friends, Work and Busy Busy Busy!!

Lets see, since I last posted a lot has happened. I got a job at target the end of July. I went in for a interview, Two people interviewed me, Asked me what experience I had, They explained what I would be doing and what would be expected of me. They were both really nice. I was offered the job right after the interview, which was awesome! It was a seasonal job offer. They had me go do a drug test that very same day, All I had to do for the drug test was go in a cup. Obviously I passed, since I don't do drugs. It was about two weeks later when they called me and told me when orientation was, That was a stressful two weeks. Because in that time I was constantly worrying about if I didn't pass something, If they were still going to give me the job ect. ect. Ya know everyone told me I couldn't get I job if all I did was apply online. But I proved them wrong! I got the job at target and all I did was apply online! I started out on the overnight shift, It was from 12am to 5am varying days of the week. I was on the Flow team, They are the team that unloads the boxes from the truck, Bowls them to the proper area of the store, And stocks the merchandise from said boxes. I did that job until Back to school season ended. They kept me after seasonal because they thought I was a really good worker! I was put on the presentation team after seasonal ended, The presentation team Sets the aisles, By setting the shelves and pegs, Puts up the signing and pulls merchandise from the backroom. I work Monday to Friday most weeks. I love my team! We even go out to lunch every now and then.

Before I even got a call from target that I had a interview, My uncle Arlen that lives in Florida came to visit since he was in Texas for work and had a day off. When he got here we all just sat and talked for a little bit, Then he took us out for lunch at chili's. The food was awesome! He found out I was gay and started asking me weird questions like, Have you ever kissed a boy?, Haven't you ever wanted to hold hands with a boy? Have you ever gone out with a boy? And, Your not interested at all in boys? And he just looked at me like he didn't believe me and that I was really weird, And he insinuated that I was to young and naive to actually know that I liked girls. Those questions were awkward because he asked all of them in front of my dad, Who I hadn't even told that I'd kissed a boy before. He told me what everyone else told me about getting a job, That you have to go in and talk to them. That you're not going to get a job by just applying online. Other then that, The visit was pretty good for me. He really hurt daddy though with some Of the things he told him when they went out to the car to talk a little before he left. I didn't hear those words directly, so I'm not going to write them here, especially since Daddy wrote all about it in his own blog.

Later after the job interview and offer, But before the call for orientation, My aunt Trini came up to visit us with her mom and dad. She took us all out to lunch at Luby's cafeteria. The food was awesome! Everyone just talked and reminisced about to past and got caught up on the now. Trini's mom was hilarious! I loved her! After lunch, Trini and her mom and dad took me shopping for work clothes. We stopped at one store very near our apartments, But the styles were more catered to black people and they didn't have the Red shirt and khaki pants that I needed. So we then went down by target to a store called Ross Dress for Less. We found 1 shirt and 2 pairs of pants there. Plus a Backpack and lunch bag and a pair of shoes. We also got Eldin and daddy some new clothes while we were there. The backpack, because I was planning to ride my bike to work everyday and needed something to carry everything while riding the bike, And the lunch bag is pretty self explanatory. Then we want over to target and found a few more red shirts. Then we stopped at the dollar store, because her mom wanted to buy a few things there. I got a water bottle and some gum. Then we came home and they had to leave. I got Trini's cell number and they left :). The visit was very fun, daddy and Eldin even got fedoras.

Since then, I've been working for a couple of months and so far I love it! I've been working on the Presentation team for a few weeks now. As I put above, I love my team! I'm always coming home with my knees and legs all bruised from kneeling on the floor and against the shelving while putting it up. My best friend came up to live with us on the 14th of September, because the person she was living with kicked her out again, And she needed a fresh start. So I sent her money for a bus ticket and a suitcase set. Technically she got here on the 15th, since she got here at 2:30am, But it was still the 14th to me, since I hadn't gone to bed yet. On the 15th we all went to the beach in Corpus Christi. We went to Bob hall pier. That was a blast! We went and played in the water, the waves were very fun! Me, Aleshia and Eldin all walked way out where there were some decent sized waves and jumped into/onto them. Salt water really stings the eyes and nose when it gets in them. I got washed under a few times, Two of which I inhaled a lot of salt water, Boy that hurt! The third one I was prepared for! lol. We also made sand sculptures, Aleshia sculpted what looked like a woman buried in sand, Eldin dug holes and buried his legs, And daddy buried his feet. That was fun to watch! Afterwards we went down to the end of the pier and looked out on the water. There were a lot of people fishing! We saw a baby shark and a fish attached to a hook and rope that was attached to the pier. That was a little disconcerting, Since if there was a baby shark there, Then Mama shark couldn't be very far. After the beach, We went to KFC for lunch, since everyone was starving! And then we started the drive home. We got home about 10:30pm I think.

It's been great having my best friend living here! On the 16th we both dyed our hair bright red! On the 18th we went to Lakeline mall and Picked up a bunch of job applications for Aleshia, We also tried on a couple of dresses (I post the picture at the bottom.) That was fun. That Night Aleshias phone went for a swim, luckily 2 days of it sitting in rice fixed it.

On the 19th we went rollerskating with A couple of unschoolers we met on a email group. That was fun, Me and aleshia skated around for a while, I only fell once! But man that fall hurt! Eldin skated around with his new friend Anthony for a while. Then after that we went to Georgetown lake and swam for a bit. We jumped of of a small ledge into the water which was 40ft deep and a very long ways from the shore. It was harder to swim that far then we thought it would be. We even resorted to clinging to the cliff wall to rest, and said wall was covered in ants. That's how tired we were. The exhaustion was starting to set off panic, because we were so far from shore, yet we had swam so far. Me and Aleshia finally found a rock to sit on and rest. It wasn't far to the shore from there. Then we saw that Eldin was still way back and clinging to to wall. He wouldn't let go because he couldn't swim any farther. After all, he never exercises so that was far more than he was used to. Anyways we finally got Anthony the hale the boat and they went and picked Eldin up. And Eldin even saw the bright side of that experience, He got to ride in a boat! Overall It would have been worth it to jump off of the high wall just so that we wouldn't of had to swim so far.

On the 20th Aleshia went to the hospital, because of dropping blood clots, severe stomach pain and vomiting. They checked her out and said they didn't think it was anything to serious. They prescribed her some pain meds and some antibiotics. And told her to make a appointment with a gynecologist to find out what was wrong for sure.

The on the 21st She had a interview at the Olive Garden. The interview took almost an hour and when she came out, She was walking really fast and smiling. She got the job! The very first job she's interviewed for here, Her very first job, And she got it on the first try!!! We are soooooo proud of her! And she was practically glowing with happiness! Her orientation is on Monday at noon. She'll probably be working as a hostess. We then went to Walmart and I got a new phone, It's a cricket touch screen and I love it!! We then went to savers to get her work clothes. And I picked up some clothes too. We walked out of there after spending $78! Then we went and picked up some ground beef and bacon. We were very nearly out of both.

Yesterday I went out to lunch with Some people from work, We ate at Pluckers. There food was good. I got a grilled cheese and macaroni. Afterwords me and a different Anthony, (This one works with me) went to see a movie. We saw  "The house at the end of the street." It was pretty good, It was very weird. I think He saw it as a date?. But to me it was just going out with a friend to see a movie. So after I was home for a few minutes, I texted him and told him that I was sorry but I'm gay and not interested in guys in that way. He texted me back and said that It was ok, He understood. And that he hoped I had a nice weekend. He's a really nice guy, But Like I said, just not into them. Then later that day, Me, Aleshia, Eldin and Daddy went to a frozen yogurt place to meet with Barbra and Anthony from the unschooling thing. The yogurt was very good! Afterwords we went hiking. That was fun, The riverbed had no water except a couple of small puddles. Then on the walk back, We heard a rattlesnake! That was very startling, Especially considering it was getting kinda dark! After all that, We came home and made meatloaf. It was very good! Then me and Aleshia went down to the hot-tub for a bit. Then when we came back we put up laundry and finished the dream boards that we had been working on. Then at about 2am I went to bed, And I can only assume aleshia came to bed not long after me.

And that's everything that's been going on since I last wrote! I'll try to update more often, But I can't promise anything. :-).

  3. I hassle you about not posting then when you do I have such bad connectivity problems...Something happened during the drought so now when it does rain, we have internet and phone problems for a few days.
It is so great that your temp job turned into a not temp one. And congrats to Aleshia! And I hope she is feeling better.
I don't know what to say about your uncle--that isn't a bit derogatory. He sure was showing a bit of ignorance. He thinks you are too young to know? But if you were getting married at your age it would be okay, right? Does he think one discovers their sexual identity during middle age? On the other hand, he might have been trying to loose his ignorance by asking all those questions--he was just ignorant in the way he did it. He probably didn't intend to come off that way. Just blow it off and be your normal charming self. Oh, but make sure all those guys that want to go out with you are aware of your orientation before the "friend date" or it might cause some unexpected issues.
    Good to hear from you!

  4. I was just talking to Ron about your blog, specifically the part about your uncle, and I brought up what your dad had written about their talk at the car. I went to look it up so I could refresh my memory on it and, in fact, your dad did *not* write about it in his blog. I was thinking he had too but he didn't. He should have posted it on his blog, I think, but it did go to PFS.

    1. Well, you know, I didn't want to whine to the world, just to those who I've known for a long time and would sort of understand why what he said had hurt my feelings so much.

    2. I understand. I just mentioned it because she said you had posted it on your blog and you hadn't. Getting this added comment on your brothers visit after reading what you said a few months ago makes me feel very sad; sad for your brother and sad that you guys had to get the verbal brunt of his ignorance and confusion. Gee, I am guessing there is something (probably more than one something) that he said to you that you left out of your rendition. Did he blame your "poor life choices" for causing your daughter to be gay? If he didn't I would be surprised based on the rest of what I have heard/read.
People can be very dense, even those that we think shouldn't be. One of my all time favorite stupid comments made by people that just found out someone is gay--"But he/she is a good looking guy/gal." Yeah, and pleasing features have everything to do with sexual orientation, right? Like, I didn't get asked to the prom so I will start dating people that are the same sex as me. Or, the problem was you didn't lead a normal, God-fearing life or this would not be happening.
      What a crock!
Let your brother keep his own disappointments.
And Paganangel, you *are* a good looking gal, be proud of yourself for all that you are.
